Summary
This official decree renames the National Stadium in Tegucigalpa as "National Stadium José de la Paz Herrera (Chelato Uclés)" to honor this outstanding citizen for his contribution to Honduran football. It orders the sports authority to display the new name on the stadium facilities and official documents.
Considerations
Whereas Article 172 of the Constitution of the Republic establishes that all anthropological, archaeological, historical, and artistic wealth of Honduras form part of the Cultural Heritage of the Nation.
Whereas it is the duty of the State to honor its outstanding citizens in an appropriate manner in recognition of their achievements.
Whereas the illustrious citizen José de la Paz Herrera (Chelato Uclés) transmitted the passion of football to the Honduran population in general and continues to do so through his legacy, which will be present from generation to generation.
Whereas in accordance with what is established in Article 205 Attribution 1) of the Constitution of the Republic, it is within the power of the National Congress to: Create, decree, interpret, reform, and repeal laws.
Articles
The National Stadium located in the Municipality of the Central District shall be named "NATIONAL STADIUM JOSÉ DE LA PAZ HERRERA (CHELATO UCLÉS)".
Instruct the National Commission for Sports Facilities (CONAPID) to, in compliance with this Decree, place in the facilities of the Sports Center referred to in the preceding Article, the corresponding designation or nomenclature, as well as in the documents that in relation to the management thereof are issued.
This Decree shall enter into force as of the day of its publication in the Official Gazette "La Gaceta". Given in the city of Tegucigalpa, municipality of the Central District, in the Hall of Sessions of the National Congress, on the ninth day of the month of March of two thousand twenty-two.
