Summary
This announcement sets Honduras' minimum wages for 2024 and 2025, agreed upon by workers, employers, and government. Increases range from 5.5% to 7% depending on company size and economic sector, affecting all workers. The pending adjustment for January-February 2024 must be paid by April 30th.
Considerations
The worker sector, employer sector, and government, in accordance with their respective roles contained in the Minimum Wage Law, held conversations aimed at reaching agreement on the best conditions for the implementation of the minimum wage increase for the years 2024 and 2025.
As the employer sector, we are aware that the best way to plan is when there is certainty regarding the budgetary changes that occur in company finances, which is why we will continue to support multi-year minimum wage determinations agreed upon on the basis of technical parameters related to the cost of living and productivity, with the purpose of generating economic stability in the country and the sustainability of enterprises.
On Monday, February 26, 2024, the final meeting between the parties was held, concluding with the following wage adjustment applicable for the years 2024 and 2025.
The adjustment previously agreed upon corresponding to the months of January and February of the year 2024 shall be paid in deferred form no later than April 30 of the present year.
Based on the foregoing, the agreement for the years 2024 and 2025 in accordance with the economic activities, worker strata, and amounts described, is as shown in the following tables: COHEP
